7S Framework


This framework ensures that every part in the organization works in harmony with each other. This framework is used to analyze the ranking and position of your company in the market. This framework checks whether your organization has achieved its target or is it still in the process run to achieve it. Earlier to measure performance of the company was the most difficult task to be performed as there was no methods and frameworks which could calculate it. But both the internal and external factors and approaches when combined together build this 7S framework. This tells us the necessary factors to be considered to check the performance of an organization.

Since after then many models have been developed but they did not succeed as 7S framework model did. Many other models came in and out of fashion ineffectively. But only 7S framework model has ruled the market since then and persisted so long undefeated. This model was developed in 1979.

It was developed by Tom Peters and Robert Jack man waterman. They were the consultants at the McKinsey and company firm, which was a consulting firm. There are seven characteristics of an organization. These factors and characteristics must be followed properly for profit oriented approach.

The situations where alignment perspective is useful, we use 7S model. It vastly improves the business performance of the company. It also aligns the departments and processes during a merger or integration. This model determines various ways to implement the proposed strategy. It examines the after effects of any changes in the future in the company.

The 7 elements are strategy, structure, systems, shared value, style, staff, and skills. This model can be applied to any project and with any team. This should be remembered that it should be implemented properly. It is a very important model.
