Business Process Modeling and Simulation
Modification in business means smart working and in perfect business management, Modeling and simulation plays quite important role. Modeling basically helps in testing newly developed ideas or innovations being introduced in the virtual world where errors are cheap. Also, modeling renders a framework in order to compare the competing alternatives and, then assist clarifying the potential risks involved and also the rewards of achieving those activities. Business Modeling is pervasive in true sense because every time a spreadsheet is created in the organization, a model is established. The companies are highly investing in modeling and in fact, a lot of money is being invested in building the strategy of the company that circulates around the result generated from the model. This makes the modeling an enterprise-wide and also strategic initiative in business simulation. Enterprise Simulation or ES is basically the implementation of the modeling techniques on the enterprise scale. There are typically two objectives or aims described for it:
In order to encourage a strategic decision-making, top-down view of the entire business enterprise needs to be provided.
Also, in order to implement the modeling techniques in the daily routine decisions, a range of individuals needs to be enabled in the enterprise.
However, no tools have been generated yet that can satisfy the above mentioned objectives. Though BI or Business Intelligence and other historical reporting systems only assist in monitoring the business operations, but BI also lacks in the case where evaluation of the new innovative ideas is concerned for which exist no history.
Modeling business simulation is quite unique in the ability to fulfill ES objectives. Just by making the model structure simple and supporting the reuse of work, the cost of building business can be eliminated or reduced. Also, simulation enhances the modeling accuracy by subdividing the work in individuals specifically with domain knowledge.
