How to Market Salad Dressing
A little bit funny question came in today: How to Market Salad Dressing. But becouse it is so funny, I decided to make an article about it. In this article, I will try to give you few ideas on how to market salad dressing or how to market any other similar product as well. Please be aware, that salad dressings market is very saturated so you will have to be different, you will have to be inovative if you want to market you salad dressing product.
First we need to ask ourselves is, what would it take for us to buy our product? Well the product would have to be good quality, low price and avalible whenever we need it. Do you agree?
So we have to make sure, that we have at least two of those characteristics. All three would be just great! So now once we have all this, what do we have to do? We have to sell it! In order for people to know, that our salad dressing is what they want, we need to tell them that our salad dressing has everything they want a salad dressing to have. So it is tasty (good quality), cheap (low price) and avalible when we need it. So how to do this?
Very good way to promote any food product is to give it out for a taste on crowded days such as sundays, when people go into their store and they are not in a hurry. You should set a table there and show it to people, telling them how cheap it is and why is it heathy as well at the same time. Make sure you give them a chance to buy it right away! Biggest mistake is to promote the product, spending money on it and not have it there for people to buy right away. You’d say of course, but you’d be surprised to know how many companies promote their products and not sell them at the same time.
Another good way to market your salad is to give it to restourants at “special” price. When the restaurants will give it out (in the original pack) next to the salad they serve, people will notice the dressing, of course it really has to be tasty and of course you need to make sure that they will be able to buy it in the nearest local store.
Remember, no matter what product you market, you won’t sell it if people won’t know what benefits they get out of buying it. That is what marketing is all about.
