Tie it All to Your Customers

I see many catalogs that are quite good at explaining what a product is and what it does. I don’t really have many problems when it comes to know exactly what a product can do, but what I don’t see very often is why I should care about this? How am I going to make use of these products in my everyday life?

I remember those late night infomercials for the heavy-duty knives. I can’t recall the exact company off the top of my head, but they show this wonderful knife cutting through all sorts of different objects in order to show you just how sharp the blade is. They go on to give a long list of the specific things you can do with this knife. They usually come up with some very interesting little ways to make use of the product. I wouldn’t have always thought of these things myself, to be honest.

This is the thing you need to be aware of. Whether or not you like infomercials, I have a feeling you have to admit that they give you a lot of different ways you can make use of their products.

When you’re getting catalog printing done you need to be looking at more than just what your products are. I can find out what the product is with ease, but knowing what it does is not the same as connecting it to me.

Each time you write a description for a product you need to be asking yourself how this specific product is going to help your customers. Remember too this is about it will help your customers specifically. There are a lot of products out there that can do a lot of different things, but you only need to focus on what you think your customers might use it for.

If you list off a number of uses that don’t apply to them you aren’t going to encourage them to care. You have to know what it is that your customers do, and figure out how your product can make their lives easier.

This requires a good amount of knowledge, but it’s a must to make your catalog printing appeal directly to your customers.

The more specific you are about your descriptions the better. Figure out a few exact activities you know your customers are going to do and connect your product to them. This not only makes it easier for your customers to decide if your product is for them, but it also shows just how well you know them.

The best companies are those who can connect with their customers, and be certain that they always have their customer’s needs on their mind. Show your customers that you know what their daily hardships are, and that you have just the product to make their life that much easier.
